THANK YOU! The Zimbabwe Orphan Program Expansion is fully funded for 2020!

Back in September, we proposed a BIG, HAIRY, AUDACIOUS goal of raising $100,000 before the end of the year in order to care for an additional 250 orphaned children devastated by the recent cyclone and the ongoing drought in Zimbabwe.

Because of generous donors like YOU, we met our goal and ZOP is fully-funded for 2020! On behalf of the AMOS Charitable Foundation and the Zimbabwe Orphan Program, we want to say THANK YOU! Words cannot adequately convey the utmost gratitude we feel for those who donated.

Children will be cared for. Lives will be changed. Hope will persevere.

Because of you.

THANK YOU!

Want to continue your ongoing support going forward in the coming years? Please consider becoming a monthly donor.

The AMOS Charitable Foundation Seeks to Raise $100K for Zimbabwe Orphans before End of Year

The AMOS Charitable Foundation exists because poverty, illness, and natural disasters exist. Many communities in eastern Zimbabwe were devastated by Cyclone Idai in March 2019, leaving orphans in these regions more vulnerable than ever. The Zimbabwe Orphan Program, with the support of the AMOS Charitable Foundation, has been asked to offer support for 250 additional orphans in the Manicaland province.

ZOP has cared for thousands of needy orphans in the past decade. Many of our ZOP students have graduated top of their class and some have even received scholarships to attend university both in Zimbabwe and in the U.S. We believe in the power of compassion to make a difference in a child’s life and have seen firsthand the benefit in the lives of the ZOP students.

The cost to support one child is approximately $35 per month. This donation covers school fees, uniforms, food, and ongoing support from an orphan mentor. When multiplied for 250 destitute children, the financial need is a staggering $105,000 per year. Our goal is to raise $100,000 before the end of 2019 to meet the most immediate needs of these children…a need that will continue for years to come.

Our mission has always been to gather the necessary resources stateside to enable local individuals with a heart to serve the less fortunate in their own communities. With virtually no overhead cost (all of our AMOS Charitable Foundation board members volunteer their time and talents stateside), one hundred percent of donations are sent to Zimbabwe. The local Board of Trustees for the Zimbabwe Orphans Program oversees the distribution of funds and ensures accountability that the children are cared for.
